David A. Smith Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
David A. Smith was appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2002. Mr. Smith was elected Chairman of the Board in March 2007 and has served on the Board of Directors of the Company since July 1993. Mr. Smith became President of the Company in October 2000 and was also Chief Financial Officer from April 1992 to January 2002.
Previously, Mr. Smith served as an Executive Vice President of the Company from April 1996 to October 2000 and as a Vice President of the Company from April 1992 to April 1996. He served the Company as a Regional Manager, General Manager, Sales Manager and Operations Manager from July 1987 to June 1993. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Smith worked in public accounting from 1983 to 1987. Mr. Smith holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of North Florida.
David M. Bronson Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
David M. Bronson was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2002. Mr. Bronson has over 25 years of healthcare industry experience, having spent more than ten years focused exclusively on healthcare distribution as a senior financial officer. He was previously Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO of Nasdaq-traded healthcare distributor VWR Scientific Products (later acquired by Merck KGaA in 1999) from 1995 to 1999. After completing the sale of VWR to Merck, Mr. Bronson joined Digineer, Inc., a privately-held service provider of technology-based clinical solutions, from 1999 to 2001 as Senior Vice President and CFO. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bronson held senior financial roles with NYSE-traded Baxter Healthcare, Inc. from 1975 to 1995, including Vice President of Finance and Business Development for Baxter Scientific Products from 1992 to 1995 and Vice President and Controller of Baxter Diagnostics Dade Division from 1988 to 1992. While with Baxter Healthcare, Mr. Bronson designed and led processes to refine and revitalize Baxter's scientific products distribution business. Mr. Bronson holds a Masters in Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. in Accounting from California State University at Fullerton.
Gary A. Corless Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Gary A. Corless was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in August 2005. From May 2002 to August 2005, he served as President of the Physician Business, Physician Sales & Service, and Executive Vice President of PSS World Medical. From April 1999 to May 2002, Mr. Corless served as President of the Elder Care Business, Gulf South Medical Supply, leading the division to a dramatic rise in operational and financial performance over the three-year period. From April 1998 to April 1999, Mr. Corless served as Senior Vice President-Eastern Region of Diagnostic Imaging, a former subsidiary of the Company. Prior to that position, he served as the Company's Vice President-Southern Region from April 1997 to April 1998. From 1996 to 1997, Mr. Corless served the Physician Business as a regional vice president of sales and operations, and from 1990 to 1996 he held various leadership positions with the Company. Mr. Corless earned a B.S. in Finance from Florida State University.
John F. Sasen , Sr. Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
John F. Sasen, Sr. has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the Company since April 1998. Mr. Sasen served as a Director of the Company from July 1993 to April 1998 and as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company from August 1995 to April 1998. Mr. Sasen served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Company from December 1993 to March 1997 and served as Executive Vice President from August 1993 to August 1995. Prior to joining the Company in 1990, Mr. Sasen was Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Distributor Relations for a division of Becton Dickinson, & Company ("Becton Dickinson"), a manufacturer of health care products. In that position, Mr. Sasen directed product development and marketing efforts, technical services, product services, and customer service. Mr. Sasen was with Becton Dickinson for over 20 years. In addition, Mr. Sasen is currently involved in the Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA), a non-profit organization that addresses the needs of the healthcare industry, currently serving as Chairman of the HIDA Education Foundation and as a member of the executive board of HIDA.
Jeffrey H. Anthony Senior Vice President, Corporate Development
Jeffrey H. Anthony has served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development since April 2000. He is responsible for all human resource and employee development related functions, including payroll, benefits, leadership development, business and resource planning, retirement services, and the Center for Career Development. Prior to this position, Mr. Anthony served the Company as Senior Vice President of Distribution from April 1999 to April 2000 and as the Senior Vice President of the Eastern and Mid-America Region from April 1998 to April 1999. Mr. Anthony also served as the Company's Chief Information Officer from April 1996 to April 1998 and as Pacific Regional Manager from April 1995 to April 1996. Mr. Anthony holds a B.S. in Organizational Communication from University of South Alabama.
Kevin P. English Senior Vice President, Supplier Operations
Kevin P. English has served as Senior Vice President, Supplier Operations of PSS World Medical since November 2007. He served as the Company's Senior Vice President, Finance from April 2004 to November 2007 and as Vice President, Finance from October 1999 to April 2004. Prior to that time, he served as the CFO for Diagnostic Imaging (a former subsidiary of the Company that was divested in November 2002) from November 1998 to October 1999 and served as Diagnostic Imaging's Controller from April 1997 to October 1998. Before joining Diagnostic Imaging, he served as Operations Leader for the Physician business' Atlanta distribution center from October 1996 to March 1997. Mr. English was employed by Deloitte & Touche LLP, as a Senior Audit Accountant from 1992 to 1996. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida and passed the CPA exam in May 1994.
Bradley J. Hilton Senior Vice President, Operations
Bradley J. Hilton has served as Senior Vice President of Operations for PSS World Medical since April 2003. From June 2000 to April 2003, Mr. Hilton served as the Vice President of Operations of the Physician Sales & Service business. From April 1998 to June 2000, he served as the Vice President of Operations of Gulf South Medical Supply, Inc. His roles at Gulf South Medical Supply, Inc. and the Physician Sales & Service businesses were primarily focused on rebuilding the operations infrastructure to drive improved financial performance and overall service. Prior to these roles, Mr. Hilton served as an Operations Leader at three branches. Mr. Hilton holds a B.B.A. in Management from Texas A&M University.
Edward D. Dienes Senior Vice President of Sales Physician Sales & Service
Edward ("Eddie") Dienes was appointed Senior Vice President of Sales of the Company's Physician Business, Physician Sales and Service, in April 2002. Previously, Mr. Dienes served the Company as a Regional Vice President for two regions from April 1996 to April 2002. From August 1988 until April 1996, Mr. Dienes held various progressive leadership positions within the company. Prior to working with the Company, Mr. Dienes was employed by Crescent City Surgical, a medical product distributor in the greater New Orleans area that was acquired by the Company, from June 1985 to December 1986 as a sales representative and from January 1987 to August 1988 as the President. Mr. Dienes earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Loyola University in New Orleans.
Billy Ray Clemons , Jr. Vice President of Sales Gulf South Medical Supply
Billy Ray Clemons was appointed Vice President of Sales of the Company's Elder Care Business, Gulf South Medical Supply, in February 2007. Previously, Mr. Clemons served the Company as Zone Vice President from April 2003 to January 2007 and as Sales Leader in the Company's Southern Region from February 1999 to March 2003. He has received both the Eagle Award and the Distinguished Cross Award, the Company's highest honors given to employees. Prior to working with the Company, Mr. Clemons was employed by Medical Specialized Systems, a Birmingham, AL-based medical product distributor that was acquired by the Company, from 1989 to 1999 as a sales representative, sales leader, and Vice President of Sales.
Thomas D'Innocenzi Vice President, Global Sourcing
Thomas D'Innocenzi joined PSS World Medical in November 2004 as Vice President, Global Sourcing with over 20 years of international business experience. Prior to PSS World Medical, Mr. D'Innocenzi headed the international division of a knowledge management and e-learning company which provided continuing medical education to doctors throughout the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, he served as a management consultant in global sourcing of high-tech business solutions for international companies. Previous to his work in international sourcing, Mr. D'Innocenzi was a manager of international systems support for Merck & Co. heading business solutions teams in several EU member countries, and earlier worked with Johnson & Johnson Hospital Services Group. Mr. D'Innocenzi is a veteran of the United States Air Force with training in Russian linguistics.
Carl A. Duhnoski Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Carl A. Duhnoski was promoted to Chief Information Officer in October 2007. From August 2005 to October 2007, he served as Senior Director, IT Infrastructure, managing the Company's enterprise-wide technology platform and implementing best-practice programs to streamline infrastructure efficiency. Mr. Duhnoski also led the relocation of the Company's Enterprise Data Center to a secure hosted facility and the continued development of systems to support the Company's growth. While previously with Bloomberg L.P. ("Bloomberg") for over 12 years, Mr. Duhnoski progressed through various leadership roles to Global Program Director, managing operations in the North American, European, and Asian markets. He also oversaw the development of electronic trading applications and launched both the Software Quality Assurance Group and various support activities for Bloomberg's Electronic Trading Applications. Mr. Duhnoski holds a B.S. in Economics and an M.B.A. from Rider University.
Mary M. Jennings Vice President, Compliance and Tax
Mary M. Jennings joined PSS World Medical in 1997 and has served as Vice President of Tax and Chief Compliance Officer since October 2000. Ms. Jennings' focus on Ethics saw the development of a Corporate Compliance Program, which included the creation of a Code of Ethics introduced company-wide in May 2001. Prior to October 2000, she served as Vice President of State and Local Tax, and as Sales Tax Reporting and Compliance Manager. Ms. Jennings' background includes more than 15 years experience as a corporate tax and risk management professional. Before joining the Company, Ms. Jennings spent six years with Barnett Banks, Inc. as Sales Tax Manager. Ms. Jennings received a Bachelor's degree from Clemson University.
Robert C. Weiner Vice President, Investor Relations
Robert C. Weiner joined PSS World Medical. in November 2001 as Vice President, Investor Relations. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Weiner headed investor relations and corporate communications for two publicly traded companies with interests in the consumer products and restaurant industries. Additionally, he represented more than 40 public companies in a variety of industries as investor relations counsel while working with agencies including Morgen-Walke Associates, Inc. and Capital Communications Group, Inc. Previous to his work in investor relations, Mr. Weiner was a portfolio manager for JCW Investments, Inc., a boutique money manager with over $500 million in assets under management, and earlier worked with BDS Securities and Paine Webber. Mr. Weiner holds a B.B.A. in Management from Lynchburg College.
John G. Kammlade Vice President, Internal Audit
John G. Kammlade joined PSS World Medical in February 2004 as Vice President, Internal Audit. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Kammlade led the professional services division of an information systems control solutions company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kammlade held senior financial and operational management roles with Lexmark International and Ernst & Young. Mr. Kammlade holds an M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University and is a certified public accountant.
David D. Klarner Vice President and Treasurer
David D. Klarner has served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Company since March 2002. Mr. Klarner focuses on banking and credit relationships, risk management, and insurance. From October 1999 to March 2002, he served as Vice President of Treasury and Financial Reporting and also Director of Financial Reporting from January 1998 to October 1999. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Klarner was employed by Arthur Andersen LLP, as a Senior Audit Accountant from 1993 to 1997. He holds a Masters of Accountancy and a B.S. in Accounting from University of Florida and is a certified public accountant.
Steven J. Magiera Vice President, Business Development
Steven J. Magiera joined PSS World Medical, Inc. as Vice President, Business Development in January 2005. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Magiera was Vice President, Finance at Cardinal Health, Inc. from March 1997 to December 2004 in the Pharmaceutical Technologies & Services (PTS) segment. During his tenure with Cardinal Health, he was a key driver of six strategic acquisitions in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom. A twenty-three year healthcare industry veteran, Mr. Magiera began his career with American Hospital Supply Corporation in 1982 and stayed with the company through the acquisition by Baxter International in 1985. His thirteen-year career with American/Baxter included a four-year expatriate assignment as Director, Finance for Baxter Diagnostics Europe from 1989 to 1993. Upon his return to the United States, Mr. Magiera was instrumental in achieving the eventual sale of the global Diagnostics business to Bain Capital in December 1994. He stayed with new company, renamed Dade International, as Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis and he played a key role in the acquisition and global integration of Dupont's Medical Diagnostics business in July 1995. Mr. Magiera holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Marquette University and is a certified public accountant.
